Project Brief

“Ziggy’s landing” its nick-name, is a Custom lakefront home,  designed for family gatherings and entertaining. Floor plan consists of a main first floor; walk  out lower level and expandable 2nd floor. 

Design Concept

Owners wanted a house large enough for entertaining, yet “cozy”. Definitely  not the “Museum feel” that some estates of the same size have. The words entertaining, open,  and functional, were used many times in the design process.

Custom Wine Cellar

The description wouldn’t be complete without mention of the lower level; this “Party Zone” Has  a custom bar that rivals your favorite “Cheers” establishment! LVT tiles over the radiant heated  floor were used throughout the lower level except for the theater which has plush carpet and  the two baths, where porcelain tile was used. All cabinetry is custom built.  

Relationship to Surroundings

The house sits on approx. 1/2 acre with 90’ of Lake Frontage on  a slightly sloping lot. 

Unique Features

Many unique features were  incorporated into the home, such as a walk through pantry that leads to a “one of a kind”  laundry room, with so much natural light, an obscure glass barn door was used to allow the  natural light to pass into the interior rear hallway. Ceiling details were used such as a vaulted  paneled ceiling in the Sunroom, and a “barrel “ceiling in the foyer.

Fine Wood Finishes

The spa like bath contains a  steam shower and therapy tub, with mood lighting. The use of other sources of light allow the  lighting to be “spa like” or adjusted for everyday tasks, the home incorporates smart  technology and “Green” standards with spray foam insulation, and high efficiency everything...
